yes, death destroys the dream of who we believe we are. we do everything we can to deny that who we are and what we are up to is futile. that must lend itself to truth.

i only like such obsession...
in rap lyrics...lol
personally, i am scared of death...i have learnt that a cousin of my child's dad had died a few days ago...i had known this person in the late 80's and the last time i saw him was in 1988...the news of his death raised a lot of former memories in my mind and i really felt sad. This person was quite young...i his late 30's and he died a sudden death in Cameroon...that's terrible...death makes evth so definitive:(

i have heard of the book you speak of, but i don't think i'd be interested in reading something like that now. it is strange how we try so hard to hide things, or deny them, and make them such huge problems. thanks for the read.

Have you read the book Stiff; The Curious Life of Cadavors? I hope I got that right. Can't remember the author off hand. It sounds sick I know but it's a fascinating book. There's no glorification of serial killers. I was afraid of dying until I read this.

have you looked at the true crime section at the bookstores? have you seen the movies such as 'silence of the lambs' and 'seven'? have you ever seen the shows on a&e channel, about these different individuals? we can't get enough of these people, because we think they are something monstrous and evil. but, the truth is that we have all harbored ill will towards others, and thought of killing someone. we see ourselves in them. they represent our deepest fears about ourselves being realized.

I wasn't aware that there are people who worship serial killers...if they do exist, then they need help just as much as the killers do.

it is a source of tremendous fear. but denying it only increases the fear.

one need only look into the eyes of a dead body to realize that it has nothing to do with what inhabited it when it was 'alive'.

Hi Avant
I find it interesting how the terms, I am dying, or ,I am getting old, are expressed.Someone in my family spoke of this in the summer, and I quickly changed the subject.
thank you

Avant -
Your last sentance is key - it IS something ONLY the body experiences. My blog today will be on this aspect of death. In fact, since this whole world is an illusion, the death we see and hear about is only an illusion.
