- Go to How to pay for the President’s rebuilding program
Welcome, moondawg!
Thanks for joining our pack here. I did pick up on that, but there was a certain, shall we say, skepticism about business involvement as well that got me barking.
And to all - it just kills me to hear the brainwashed among the liberals chanting their mantra that the rebuilding will be paid for by cutting social programs and Medicare, by throwing Grandma out of her house, and all the other Democrat cliches while saying absolutely nothing about the massive waste in government spending that I only touched on.

You have good points here
many of them are somewhat the same as I tried to make in my post that you seemed to have missed. My complaint is not that companies should make a profit, but that this is how New Orleans should be rebuilt. I wont argue the point of what I said, because I think that if you were really to think about it you would realize the point I was trying to make.

WriterofLight man this is scary, I agree 100%
As far as the war on terror, no we can't stop fighting it. My point on Iraq is this. It is time to really evaluate everything in Iraq and just how much of that war is really taking a dent out of terrorism, with Sudan, Syria, Iran, Jordon, and so many others in the pictures, I have to ask about any gains we may have made in in Iraq compared to losses against terrorism in these other countries as they go unchecked.

That's pretty much what I had in mind. There's more than enough pork in the oh six budget to pay for the rebuilding program, probably, twice over. Of course, Congress will have to make a sacrifice and I doubt they will even consider it.
