nudity
You know...I saw you're picture on your profile page...you're very hot...you have nothing to feel embarassed about!  Show off your hottie self, show off God's creation.  I don't think I should be seen naked, but that is another story.

Leap over that useless embarressment, and embrace the kiss of God's breath on your skin!! It is Holy & it is healing

How weird it feels probably has a lot to do with just exactly where it is you're going for these naked excursions....hahaha.   Do we get to hear about that in a Part 2?  You owe us that, at least

Nope, I wouldn't last a day! Been there and done that... it wasn't a pretty sight. I think most people look better with clothes on! I like swimming and sleeping nude, but that's about as far as I go! Methinks me looks bad!!!

Quirky
When I lived in Denmark, I got used to being topless on the beach pretty quickly, which surprised me. All of the women there sunbathe topless.  The first couple of times I went to the beach with my bathing suit top on, I got all kinds of stares, so I finally quit wearing it ... and got no stares!  At first that made me wonder what was "wrong" with me, but I soon realized that just the opposite was true - I was normal just like every other woman out there.  And no lecherous stares - except from the occasional tourist!

Quirky

recently I came inside hot and nasty after working in the flowerbeds. I pulled my shirt off in the kitchen and tossed it in the laundry room. While making myself something to drink I remembered I forgot to turn on the pool pump so I headed back out the door. Halfway to the pool I realized I was in my bra!!! ACK it was too late so I casually walked out, turned on the pump and scurried back in. Luckily it was midday so most neighbors were at work and I convinced myself if anyone saw me maybe they thought I had on a swimsuit top. Nope nudity wouldn't be for me LOL

I think it started at the swimming hole
When folks would go to the swimming hole there were your bank walkers (who were proud of their genetics) and jumpers (who maybe werent)Both men and women. I think it started there.

Quirks,
I think we can first blame religion for making it "sinful." Then it continued for ages until vanity kicked in. Vanity and competition. Especially nowadays when female models all have fake boobies and are required to weigh no more than 75 pounds.

Hi Quirky
I've often thought that we are way to prudish in America. That said, I do not feel comfortable being around anyone without clothes. Even when I'm home by myself, I think for sure someone must be looking in the window. I guess I'm a little paranoid.

Wait, so you're telling me I'm supposed to wear clothing in public? Oops!
No wonder I've been getting stares!

Quirky something to ponder. We are oriented to think nudity is wrong and shameful. We should all love our bodies. That is our birthday suit for LOL

Quirky...
I for one like being naked.  When I was younger I was well known as an avid skinny dipper at the local swimming hole.  I think clothing just got started to keep warm...then they became adornments and fashion was born.  There are still tribes that spend most of their time naked, Europe has frontal nudity on tv commercials, it is our western culture that has the biggest hang up.

I find them very relaxing and freeing. After the first few minutes most people sort of forget they're nude

QUIRK
If I lived where I could not be seen by neighbors....I would never put clothes on...nothing feels better to me than being naked with nature....now this does mean that I like looking at my nude body...cuz I don't.......... And I think where we all got the freaky fear of nudity started with our first story book...the bible......'And they saw that they were naked and ran and hid.' Or something like that. Thanks for sharing.

I'm not sure about humans "naturally" liking to cover. I think it is more a socially taught thing--look at European beaches, where the women all go topless and think nothing of it, because it is socially acceptable. Most of us are taught from early on, that nudity is bad.

Humans Naturally Like to Cover!!!
Nudity? That's an interesting topic to ponder. I thing the human body is a work of art. God says we are beautifully and wonderfully made. So yes why are we so ashamed of our nakedness and look in lust and not admiration at such a perfect creation and I am not necessarily talking about nudity in terms of having no clothes on, even in our taughts. I think man is naturally afraid and tends to follow others leadership, that's why we cover so much. Suppose two reporters from a major t.v network were reporting the news nude tomorrow, and there was a huge t.v screen broadcasting live, in the heart of the city, and a celebrity was passing by and saw, stopped and started stripping, then everyone would atomatically follow and walking nude would automatically become acceptable like it is now right? Even the seemingly modest amongst us who initially turned there noses up would eventually follow, but then that will never happen right, at least not in public, because humans naturally cover. Or what if all the world leaders were to confess of things they have done in the past, things they were ashamed to repeat, wow wouldn't that be great, like wouldn't that be something but again that will never happen because humans naturally like to cover. We cover our fears, our evidence, our emotions, our greed, and even our love......But wouldn't that be interesting if we didn't cover so much??? Just a taught

clothing tends to be optional for me
Though now that neighbors seem to think that just dropping by is a good idea (this is a post in making trust me), I tend to be more careful about actually wearing them.

I reckon clothing was born of necessity, then through religion and culture people came to fear sexuality...

what you say (and said so poignantly) is really true. One must work doubly hard to ensure that the inside is kept up nicely, even more so than the outside which is only surface beauty, and so fleeting.

Quirky

I once tried to get into a nudist campe, but they wouldn't let me in, because I had fur on my tongue.

Seriously tho' this prudery seems to date from Victorian times, for in orevious ages, nudity in art was common ; and admired. Those volutuous female nudes of, say, Ruebens were universally admired.

The Catholic church also had a major role thorughout the ages in decrying nudity ; for instance,  until Goya's time no nude male or female figure existed in any Spanish church or cathedral.

And it was only foreign missionaries who imposed their revulsion against nudity on indidenous peoples in the Pacific islands and elsewhere.

An interesting post. Thank you.

Quirky-girl

would I ? Oh, absolutley. Give me permission, promise not to lock me up and call me crazy and its off with the clothes. I banned the bra in the 70's when i lived in Florida for awhile, and never wore one again, would gladly give up the shirt too in the summer. And I think the human body is beautiful, seperate from its sexual purpose it is beautiful in its making. Don't you just love the kiss of air on your naked skin...everything in you comes alive with wonderment. I think it is the freedom of it that I embrace. Nice post to come back too. I have missed you. Forgive my absence.

Quirky -

I am proud of my body, although the years have taken it in a direction that I prefer opposite, but none the less. with the years that I have advanced it is not so much the outside that I am concerned but the inside, especially the heart. In health, mind body and soul. If we could look past what has been made to appear vulgar and find the inner beauty in all humans we would not be so much ashamed but proud and happy to be alive.
