Flame-thrower, get real. Give me some facts. Your reactions are purely
emotional. Did Schroeder kill 6 million Jews? or did he actually kill anybody for that matter? I think not.

Why on earth can Mr Moboutou Shroeder not accept defeat and go? If he has can't be likened to a Moboutou while understanding the humiliations it might generate to sensitive minds, then what can his reactions be liken too? Perhaps Staline or Hitler?

Flame-thrower, points well taken
but you have to look at the policies of an administration overall and the effects of those policies. Look at history, look at statistics, the numbers tell the story. In democratic administrations more Americans do well economically. Democratic policies tend to raise all boats, not just those at the wealthy end. And as far as Bush being a good guy, what about the lies that got us into Iraq, what about that all his trips to New Orleans that were supposedly at relief centers, and that speach that showed the lights on several days ago, that was all faked for the press. Is that your definition of a good guy?

I want to thank you for taking the pains to locate me on where late John's film was shot and the year. It's quite long now and many things might have changed to the better or worse. But I also want to come back on Bush affair. I wanted just to pointout that, our colours are just mere decorations, we are all the same and the same blood that flows in the veins of a black person are equally those that flows in whites. Therefore, I do not think that as a black person, I am not entitled to support Mr. Bush. Certainly as a human being he is not perfect, but on the whole, I don't think that he has a particular hatred for black people. This is the only President of the United States, I guess who has shown that black people could assume any functions provided they are competent. It has been proven through is appointments. Who else has done that? Not even the democrats. As for the palaver in the Gulf states, why should mayor Nagin be exonorated for his failures? It is the same thing with Governor Blanco,it is because they belong to a certain colour and political affiliation that they should not be called to give account on they managed the disaster. Good morning and May God Bless.

What a great job you have!
One day I'll have to sit in one of your sessions. I am amazed each time I have the priviledge of reading one of your posts.

Joe_Love, I think you would
like Vermont in general. It is really quite civilized, although I'm sure you could find situations not unlike those you are writing about in your city boy goes country blog.

Majroj, Perhaps you are
right. I hadn't thought of it like that. You often help me see things differently. Thanks.

FlameThrower, Your thoughtful comment
was much appreciated. The film was shot over a 50 year period from 1951 to 2001 in Eastern Bushmenland on the eastern border of Namibia and Botswana. If John were at the screening he would have made sure the audience discussed the people in the film, not him. I was perhaps more polite than he would have been.

Very interesting peek into your job. I haven't been to Stowe before. I'm sure I will some day. I imagine it to be a beautiful town.
It can understand why it might be discouraging at times when you're wanting people to focus on the subject, yet instead they focus upon the artist (John).

People start from their frame of reference. Yours was the first step into a
new one.

First of all I want to congratulate you for having kept Jonh's wishes and also trying to present the film about African people. Just the mention of Africa was verying pleasing to me because I have not yet seen or read an article on this blog about Africa. As for the lack of interest manifested by some white folks in Stow on the people of the Kalahari deseart in either Namibia, Angola or South Africa,it was not surprising. One thing, in which part or country of the Kalahari desert was the film shot? And when was it shot? You know, the media has not done much to help but, what you are doing will certainly help make them act as John really and truely wanted. Congratulation for your very good job.
