I agree. I hope I offer you a little of # 3 and apologize for failing often on # 7. You give me all of those things!

Wow Tapsel, that's a great question. I don't think so, but maybe--I never really thought about it while reading--but I will now!!

Great post, Quirky. I agree with Marshall--headlines do play a big part in a blog's read-worthiness, at least in my book it does. Incidentally, that's what drew me to this blog! Keep it up.

You must have read my mind
Honest, you must have. I was struggling yesterday with many things, and one of them was what made a blog "click worthy." I was just about to tear my hair out (luckily for me, I didn't get that far). Decided to take a break, and come back today better rested....and low & behold, you go and answer my question for me without me having to ask you directly. THANKS...I needed that. You covered everything.

I think blogging
is all about expressing your opinion well. If you get your point across and show some passion for your subject than your fellow bloggers are going to be more interested in what you have to say.

Quirky
For me, it's entertainment, heart or a good think piece.....or a nice blending of any of those ingredients. And, if it's got that kind of content, I can overlook the delivery.....most of the time.

you have summarized it well...
but i think that despite all the efforts you might put into a content, ppl will click because of the headline...so bloggers should work on their headlines even more...well, i have also learnt not to click on some bloggers' headlines because i perfectly know that i will find a poor content and be tricked for a click...
good post

Quirky...
Sorry, my ADD is in full force, but I started a second blog, A Road from Nowhere, I meant to put Journey, but again my ADD was in full swing. OK, so I'm going out on a limb here, gonna post the channel experience. Don't worry it'll lighten up some, it started with some dark, dreary posts, but hey...figured it best to follow your advice.
Thanks for the advice on posts...it's easy to get carried away at times, and I tend to know what is in my head, and will read right over my typos.

Quirks,
I think you may have been referring to this in "#2," but I think editing out all the unecessary info within a post is a good thing. I get kinda frustrated when a post contains TMI that is really not needed. If the post is long, fine. As long as the content is needed for the story!

I can't think of anything that you didn't mention...
As strange as this may sound, more than anything else I enjoy humorous writing.
The only way I give up on a post is if it's obscure, offensive and doesn't have paragraphs. Oh and if it is way too loooong.

Hi Quirky,
I agree with all of the qualities you listed here! I know you didn't mean this to turn into a "referral page", but I just read Lensman's latest and it hits every point you listed and more. Here's the link. http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/Lensman/

A lack of obsession with Blogit and bloggers
usually cranks up the quality for me. I want insights into people's lives. It it's real I and the author has a strong voice I even forgive the odd glitch in the grammar. Indeed if someone has a strong voice and poor grammar or punctuation, I let them know discreetly because I want their strong voice to reach as far as it can.....
