Aria,
thanks for reading. You crossed my mind yesterday when I was reading Digitalink's blog. That makes 3 Jamaican residents in Blogit.

Void,
He has a car and apparently makes trips. Trips, he's not planning very well. My son lives 7-10 minutes away from school. It shouldn't take that long to get him home.

Word, getting someone else sounds like the way to go. This is your
son, not some parcel that didn't make it on someone's desk on time... and what the hell is he doing riding around for 2 or 3 hours? Is this Mr. Brown going for joy rides?

It would make me cross too. Finding a reliable, trustworthy punctual and safe driver will take a lot of worries off your mind. Children are so precious!

word.smith, I think you should get someone else to drive your son to school. A person who cannot call up beforehand to inform you that he or she will be late is palpably irresponsible.

Mystic,
Yes, it does get to me. My son is just as impatient as I am, so I understand what he's going through. This morning when I called he'd only just left at 7:45 and he was ready to go by 7:10. Monday, I'm starting with someone else.

Seems like saying we're going to do it is one thing and the doing is quite another.

Why haven't you canned him by now???
Doesn't it break your heart that your kid is standing on the sidewalk watching all the other kids be picked up and there he is, hours later, still waiting, and waiting

Thanks Katray,
I think the new guy will do. I've got good reports on his punctuality. My boy was not amused at all. Last week, he wanted to go back inside and take his school clothes off. Yesterday, he was hell bent on taking a taxi to get to school after waiting for what, to him, must seem like forever.

I'm that way, too.
Once you've lied to me, that's it. In my mind, I'll question everything that you say. And, if I did have children, I'm sure the first time you proved yourself undependable, I would question your ability every day that I used your services in the future.
Don't blame ya for looking for another drive.r

Bad enough when adults are treated to such rude behavior
but truly inexcusable treatment of a child. Your anger and determination to replace him are well justified Word. Hope the new driver works out.

Libertine,
Yes, yes, yes. It is never too early to teach children certain things. I don't want him to be neurotic, but if he develops the habit of being on time, he'll never have to dash around breathlessly from place to place - like I see my boss doing everyday. He's always late! Time and again I tell him that one day he's going to be stopped in his tracks by a heart attack from all this rushing around.
He'll have a 10:30 meeting half an hour away and at 10:20 he can be found dashing out the door.

I hear you sister. I can't abide tardiness either, and when you're dealing with a kid it's even more important. I've gotten more punctual as I've gotten older.
