I love MAD, Xeno-x, as well as Cracked. I think all those guys are great.
And I believe they are a helluva lot more intelligent than your average White House denizen or advisor.

and i just heard
that the head of homeland security did not give orders for FEMA to take action until I think 36 hours (or maybe even more) after N. O. was flooded.

FEMA'S hands were tied. Brown could do nothing (as if he could if he could [just like the Pres]).

Hey! they're al lthe same ineffectual bunch of idiots. It would seem like we're talking about the MAD Magazine staff, except that gang of idiots: 1) knows and says they're a gang of idots, as opposed to the Administration that either A] doesn't let on or B] doesn't know, which just might be worse, and 2) IS REALLY A WHOLE HELL OF A LOT SMARTER.

thanks, LifeByLisa. You know what they say: crap floats.

That means it ends up at the top.  Who is at the top?  Well, since FEMA was put under Homeland Security direction and lost its independent agency status, that would be Chertoff.  And he answers to the president.

Hey just saw the headline...
Almost posted it, but definitely didn't fall under HUMOR. Seems the National Disaster was bungled, I mean managed from the WH. Check out yahoo news, before it mysteriously disappears. Seems although incompetent, it wasn't Brown's call, but the Chertoff (Mighty Mike and Curious George at the helm...Oops!!!!!!

I'll send a link, before it vanishes from sight.

Give him time, LifeByLisa. He's still got three more years to pay back all
those bought votes -- uh, I mean, contributions.

Too many cronies...
We can dream, but unfortunately Bush has too many cronies looking for posts.  I'm sure we'll see Mikey again, new role, different agency.  Come on, Bush is "loyal to his base.'  I'm surprised he didn't appoint a few more during the congressional recess.
