Quirky, I agree. But, people still do. Even without knowing
what is truly involved. However, I have completely changed many minds by explaning the actual procedure and how unnecessary and barbaric it really is. Yay!!!

I like their floppy little ears...we used to tape our terriers ears so they'd stand up....never had them clipped though...that I recall...

oooh I should not have read this...
my doggie charlie...is in the vets as I write this...having a big operation...for cancer growths and I find out today what treatment she will be having for her heart murmur....
(I was meant to be taking my mind of it...but now I am thinking again).....your fault...LOL

Exactly, Word. How would we like it if our dog or other
family member forced us to have some painfull surgery done to us? (Hey, I think that would be pretty cool revenge for the dog!) hehe

Ariala, that's actually something else I like to throw out
at them. I say, "well, how about you have it done first, then decide if it's what you really want for your 'beloved' dog?" It really only seems fair, right?

Your last paragraph said it all. The dog doesn't give a hoot. I wouldn't think about doing that to a dog, if I had one. The whole thing is painful and for what, esthetics?

I would suggest that people who want their dogs to have this done should
