I just read an email which stated that there are something like three thousand dialysis patients in New Orleans alone who haven't had a treatment since Monday - things must be getting desperate for these people.

Thanks for the links
It's important that we do more than keep Katrina's victims in our thoughts and prayers - they need lots of concrete help down there. I was just reading horror stories about how it's going to take years just to rebuild the medical and health-care industry.

I emailed the governor of California today, and CNN news and the White House. I asked them simply, "why can't we air drop food and water to the victims today?"
I found this cool web page where you can view a 30 minute chat room, open forumn kind of place with the White House. Why not try it? Think they serve coffee?
