If you remember, there were forward depoloyed relief personal and supplies prior to the hurricane comming ashore. If you remember it took the storm almost forty-eight hours to clear the south, that's two full days before relief operations could safely begin.

I don't want tears from the leader of this country. I want strength and a sinse of calm resolution. If you want tears, go to an encounter session. The people who live in the affected areas have a responsibility to maintain order and, what a concept, help themselves.

Bush's insincerity
It is not fair that at this crtical moment people should keep doing what thay have done for the past five years, hating Bush. Every President has his own way of doing things. I don't think Reagan would have gone to the field down the Gulf coast, when all bridges and other communication faclities have been watched ago as we are all witnessing. If you want to insult Bush, just go ahead and don't use the huricane as an excuse. You are a shame.

Do you honestly think that you know what he is doing each day? Do you really believe his vacations are vacations as in don't take calls and talk to people and get things done vacations? Do you think all the plans that were announced today were put together five minutes before the speech? Have you ever been involved in anything remotely close to executive level operations of a company, much less a country?  Do you believe that the bits and pieces that you can put together from the news that you see gives you everything you need in order to for a really informed opinion?  Since the first thing the President was told was that a plane had hit the WTC, with no indication of a terrorist act, he acted appropriately....why do some people continue to try to re-write the facts of what happened that morning? Anyway, I sure wouldn't want his job and it is amazing to me how many people seem to know so much about what he's doing every minute of it..

Being inarticulate is the least of his crimes....

It is far worse to take 3 days to respond to a disaster. What is it with this guy... does he mentally stutter as well? He sat fr 7 minutes after hearing about 9/11. He vacationed for 2 days as thousands of people in the south were washed away.

Sadly I can't do much to help these folks, but this guy is "the most powerful man in the world" what is his excuse? DAMN.... he is a useless wanker of an imbecile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know what I would have done if I were president, except I would have been in Louisiana trying to help the day before the storm hit.... instead of playing golf on his 5th week of vacation!

I have to agree that Bush is not the most prolific speaker and one fraction of being a good leader is the ability to gain confidence in the people you are leading by presenting yourself well.  Right now the people of the South need leadership and emotional support and who better to give it to them than the President but I do find him lacking myself.  No one need ask me what I am doing to help.  My 5 year old is collecting money (see my blog) and on Friday my donation goes to the Red Cross (that's payday).  We may not have a good leader but at lease "we" have bottom up politics...as a group we can band together and help those people by donating to the American Red Cross.  Just my 2 cents.
