i remember talking to a girl once, who had grown up in severe dysfunction. she said that every time something good happened, she would wonder when the bad would come. she taught herself to expect it. thanks for the comment.

letting go is wonderful....somehow i can't let go of the pain of all this collective grief and suffering in the streets of an American city. I am just overwhelmed by this massive suffering and loss.

avant,
When you stated, "Only by looking at itself without judgment can a mind see how it imprisons itself." Is SO true. These days, it seems many of us are always waiting for the other shoe to drop when we find inner peace.

I'm a little too traditional I guess to call Heaven a "state of mind" but I certainly agree that we can only control our own reactions... and that if we can let go of our right to hold a grudge "the prisoner we set free is ourselves."

Avant,
If we all were mindful of the fact that we are just a temporary resident in our bodies, I would be willing to bet things would be a lot different.

thank you for a most excellent post and wonderful reminder. I *know* these things but in my daily struggles, I often forget them.

This is one aspect of Heaven, and perhaps the most important. Thanks
