Your final line there was about as childish as it gets and proves nothing. Sorry, but I don’t have millions to give. Of course right now I can barely afford to take care of my family thanks to the way your beloved corporations are running things. If I was in a position to give such amounts of money I would like to believe I would, but not at the cost of my employees who I was responsible for.

Did you not read post?

Or are you implying that I made up the FACT that Wal-Mart ahs been finding ways to give smaller and smaller raises to their employees?

As for you nice little list of big time donations those companies are giving away, those really are meaningless at one level. Yes, it is a good thing and it will help people out, but to for one moment believe those companies are doing it just out of the goodness of their hearts is about as naive and ignorant as it gets. You can bet those donations are tax deductible and the ‘good press’ they are getting from them is worth the money in advertising dollars. You have just shown that each of those companies is getting attention for their ‘generosity’. Having worked at Wal-Mart, they never cone gave away money without making sure they could make a big deal out of it and have pictures and such so that they could show the world just how ‘generous’ they were. They know the value of good public relations. They love those kind of things because the event itself gets enough media attention that they save tons of money on advertising by making such donations and cashing in on all the media buzz around the event. Your Big Corporations do nothing at all unless they know it will profit them, it is pure ignorance to believe otherwise.

You are defending the idea that companies do not need to care about being generous tot her employees, as long as every so often they give charitable donations. The point of the post was not about the self serving charitable donations that companies give out to help their public image. It was about how they treat their own employees. Trying to switch the subject does not go against the facts that I presented in my post. If anything it shows a greater lack of integrity because those companies are putting on a big show for the public, when in reality they really do not care and treat their employees poorly.
