(don't you just hate if's?) you'll validate ...my parking ticket...I just hate to pay for parking... sorry I couldn't resist. Don't ever throw your writing out! You might go back to it and discover a masterpiece.

Reading your own work is of very great importance, I believe, JP. To have it in a book is even better. But do not ever throw away a manuscript would be my advice. Throw it into a corner perhaps, but always keep it.
I'm with you on feedback. Feedback, no matter how small, is a recognition, no matter how small, of the huge effort we put into our writing.
