choosing empowerment
What is it in us that insists that things are so far from perfect? I know there have been times when I've just 'decided' that this very moment is perfect and that changed how I viewed everyone and everything. Our thoughts and actions can be, like you said, creative instead of reactive. Top post!

you're welcome. i was thinking of the hurricane victims and what they must be going through. it's very distressing.

Great post! I love the way you write these to empower the person with

choice, something everyone has, but forgets to put into practice at times in a positive manner.  I think they forget!  Thanks for reminding us!

so, when it happens, instead of attacking them and yelling and carrying on, i started going off by myself and praying for peace of mind. i can't remember a single time when i regretted doing it, despite the thought that something terrible would happen if i didn't watch them more closely.

i think it is no coincidence that when i'm feeling defensive, my kids start misbehaving.

While the choices one has are simple, Ego usually makes them hard.

it is right for everyone involved-not just beneficial for the one making it.

i use sinner as a term denoting a person who believes that the world is responsible for his state of being. we must jusitfy being aggressive, judgmental, and less than loving. no one who attacks another thinks that he is doing so in error. thanks for the comment.

the more conscious we are
the more the choice becomes clear

The definitions of "sinner" and "saint" are both relative.  They depend on who is doing the defining.  For example, an Atheist is probably a "sinner" in the mind of a Christian.  But they do not consider themselves a "sinner."  I agree that we make decisions every day that shape who we are.  And it would behoove us to make them consciously instead of relying on gut reactions.

When making big decisions, make sure your heart agrees.

Logic and reason are great; they have their place. However, for big decisions that will determine how you'll spend a significant amount of your life, follow your intuition. Intuition is your built-in compass, steering you beyond reason, protecting you from making a decision with your head that takes a toll on your heart. How well have you developed and honored your intuition? What are you trying to decide on, yet if you look deep within, you already have your answer? Follow your heart; it's closer to your soul than your head is.
