Hi MiaElla,
Yes, attitude means a lot.  Dwelling on the negative, makes life a lot more discombobulating. A negative state of mind can be defeating.  I like your post. Be safe& catch ya later.

Mia--
very true. negativity is like a big poweful vaccuum--it sucks all the life out of you unless you get out of its way. Ignoring what we find distasteful is always the best option.

I agree that it is important to ignore the negative and embrace the positive. That is why you actively seek it becuase it makes it easier to find.

I never forgot Nixon's criminal vice president Spiro Agnew's comment about "nabobs of negativity"--meaning critical liberals who think for themselves and don't agree with us. What is your definition of negativity? I'm not talking about things that fall into the categories of rudeness or slander--or actually, libel, since we are in print. Hemlocker

Thank you for your comment.

Indeed, I've seen a lot in my time. More perhaps than I want to remember.

3rd September is the anniversay of the second world war, and I'm going to do a post of what it was like for an 8 year old boy to hear the news of the outbreak

Exactly...and you have the option not to read blogs you don't like and to read the ones you do...it's the whole freedom to express and the freedom to choose...if everyone just focused on their talents and writing, well there would be a lot of good reading here.

I couldn't agree more! There are some blog sin here that I avoid like the plague.

In my long life, I've seen enough bitterness and hatred, without seeking any more of it in here

There are times when I've felt a powerful sense of deja vu : reading some posts, I can almost imagine that I'm a child again, listening to the Nazi's Nuremberg Rallies.

There's been a long, futile, venomous and utterly pointless civil war going on in here over the " rights" and the "wrongs" of the Crusades. If it wasn't so pathetic and disturbing to read, it would be almost funny.

Anyway, good luck with your blog

I completely agree!!

Encouraging words are always welcomed also. I think it is also important to respect each other's blogs and the way that each blogger chooses to run his/her site. For instance, if you are interested in a certain topic, it's denititely here. I like the fact that there are so many interests. It gives me a choice!  Schree`
