We've already had the doctor fax a letter to the electric company describing my disability - I have an oxygen concentrator requiring electricity to power it. It should be in their hands even as I type. Thanks for the suggestion.

Does your electric company not provide a special program for those in your situation? Perhaps your local Dept. of Social Services can help? Are you on SSI or Social Security Disability? Can you apply for Public Assistance? I truly hope things will get better for you.
