Thanks Military Wife
I'm not doing anyone any good by being sick all the time. When I get back to work, I'm simply going to have to take it easier even if it means some of the work doesn't get done. Fortunately the rules are set up so it's almost impossible to get fired. (The joke is that to get fired from a government job, you have to actually kill someone on government property.) Actually, they would probably be doing me a favor if they did fire me, then I could collect unemployment while I looked for another job.

Interesting Mysteria
because I work for the Maryland State Government. They are simply unwilling to spend the money to hire adequete staff so everyone there does the work of two very busy people maybe more like three. I am also blessed not to have responsibility to anyone besides myself. I don't have any childhood horrors to deal with thankfully.
I agree that 40 hours per week is too long a workweek although a lot of Americans work many more hours than that. I understand in Europe most people work 35 hours per week with much more vacation time.
Thanks for your support, it means more than you know

Jeff
I am so very sorry. I know you don't want to put more of the load on others but damaging your own health is not a good thing either.

(((JollyJeff)))
Hugs to you...I found myself in a very similar situation. I had a nervous breakdown, and had to quit my career of 20 years in State Gov. I now live on Social Security Disability Insurance...which amounts to about a third of what I used to earn. My job was killing me...I had to leave. I have tons of other issues relating to a house of horrors childhood that contributed to my nervous breakdown. I am lucky though in that I have NO responsibilities other than myself... I wish I had some remedy for your ails...I think that people in this country are WAY TOO overworked and I say that the 40 hour workweek is an atrocity that needs immediate remedy for the sake of our societys mental health...
There are A LOT of loving souls here on the blog...they will come running to your virtual facets... Don't forget to reach out... You will be in my thoughts...
