If You...
...have an oil baron in the White House - well, actually a failed oil baron, but still one who comes from a fabulously wealthy family, and that wealth is firmly based in the oil business - then why is everyone so surprised and annoyed that the price of gas is rising?
WHAT DID PEOPLE EXPECT??
And if the price of gas is rising, everything else is going to rise too. As you say, wages aren't keeping pace, and unemployment is high and rising because jobs are migrating abroad in the brilliant side-effect of globalisation known as 'the race to the bottom' (ie cheapest workforce, cheapest goods, and sod the consequences).
The US economy is only heading one way, and that is down. Sadly, that means trouble for the rest of us, too.

Yep, those are facts, and I'm going to check them out. As a benefactor of those tax cuts you talked about, I can assure you, I am not rich. At least you took the time to find sources for your position and that's a heck of a lot more than most. Personally, I appreciate your effort. Good post.
