he remains on air because
he appeals to our baser instincts, our suppressed prejudices, etc. I never watch the 700 Club because it's so full of hate-inducers. PR reminds me so much of Jerry Springer I think they must be illegitimate brothers. Another thing they have in common -- watching either of them gives me an excuse to feel a bit superior to someone for a moment. Like I said, an appeal to our baser instincts.

mysteria -- It's shocking isn't it?
Equally as shocking is how he has not been discredited and censured for these statements.

thelongroad -- I really hate to burst your little deluded bubble but.....
I am not an American and I do not live in the USA.

GomeDome, Please Leave the Country
Pack up your bags, and get out of the US.  You do not belong here.  Our country was founded on Christian principles, and freedom of religion.  You want a Communist atheist nation where Christianity is outlawed and banned. Totally unconstitutional.  Go move to China if you hate Christians and spiritual leaders so much.  You would like it there.  Christians are physically tortured regularly.

I can't believe this Robertson person has not yet died of embarrassment... The level of human imbecile-ism is mind boggling...

kooka_lives -- and it is all yet another example of how the influence of
religion impedes societal growth and development. There is something in the male composition that instills a desire to dominate females, I would suggest it is found in all males to varying degrees as it is inherent. However it is not necessarily a purely negative quality, nor is it necessary to force this characteristic out of males via a societal evolutionary process. Modification of this trait to suit the needs of our times and the needs of the individual will suffice. Unfortunately religous influence with it's penchant for conformity, hardly keeps up with the times and almost always ignores the needs of the individual.

Dennison_Mann -- now c'mon -- Freddy Mercury doing housework in a maid's
uniform was motivated by factors other than showing support to his female partners. I can envision a little prance in his step as he role played his fantasies.

Well
I think because the fundamental religions have generally been male dominated, they have a great fear of women. The obviously are very much afraid of sex in general and the idea of a woman being something more than just their property scares them more than anything. The truth is that women have a power over men without even trying for it. There is something there in our genes that make us men weak around them. I could see that some men who are very much trapped in the whole alpha-male idea would be afraid of this and fight against it at all costs. In their minds nothing has power over them and they will go and do what they can to keep women from ever thinking they might be equals.

The one comment that idiot made very clearly shows that he is afraid of just about everything that does not agree with his views. Most of that kind of ignorant thinking is based fully on fear above all else.

Freddy Mercury Vacuumed...

in a maid's outfit. I always admired him for that.

Robertson is definitely a tool. Amazing that he still finds an audience. Captain Kangaroo dispensed more wisdom than Robertson could ever imagine!

Good post.
