Thanks for your input terpgirl.
I wondered if you were around, since you haven't posted in a while.  Their other site seems to be up and running and it is kind of puzzling because they haven't said that they've taken down the site I'm supposed to be doing the article for and yet the link from their site doesn't work. We'll see.

I'm probably coming at this from a different angle
I know you say, you've found basically what you needed now.  To me the issue is not *finding* them as they are interested in an idea you have.  The issue is that you've had to look this hard for someone who *maybe* *might* be interested in your angle on something.   If you have to chase these people down this hard and you haven't done anything---and they don't owe you money yet---you should take that as a sign that there's trouble.  It's tough enough connecting with long-standing publications that have an address and faces you can connect to the publication.  This sounds iffy to me.

MW, I see what you mean...

Have you checked out the Women's and Hobby section of the Writer's Marketing. That might be a place to start. There's also a site that loves how to articles about making just about everything. Seeing as know how to do candles & soap, I'm thinking that might not be a bad place to start.  Thing is, my machine at work crashed and that's where I had the info on that 'how to' site. I dunno if I printed it out, I'll see if I can find a paper trail this weekend,

That idea for a post is actually a good one. I'm not an expert by any means, but having been through the process for little more than a year and  it's still fresh in my mind since I'm a newbie, the steps I took would probably be of some help. I'll definitely do that. Sometimes we become deterred thinking that it's harder than we think.  Thanks, I'll definitely do in the next couple of days. I'll let you know when I do.

Thanks, I know I should.  I suppose my biggest problem is this:  I know that I have something to write, but I have always fallen into what little work I have had by pure dumb luck.  I honestly have no clue how to submit, how to query, etc....  It's also hard to determine who would really be interested in my kind of work.

Hmmmm, seems you have experience, how about maybe the Readers Digest Version of "How To"?

MW, thanks

but that's where I found it.  I dunno, but it seems they have discontinued with the ezine and the link from their other site Today's Christian Woman does not work.   Thanks just the same and er, btw, you should get that book out.

Do you get the the Writer's Market each year?  Mine is still packed in a box from painting, but if you don't have it, I can find it and see if that is listed in the Markets with some kind of contact info.

I'm going to check that out.

Anna, thanks, but that's not the one.

I came across that one  during my search  last night as well and copied their guidelines though.

Thanks David,

Here I was thinking that you had got past the thinking stage and was actually doing.   Soooo, what have you been doing about your writing?

It's not a magazine that I subscribe to

Of course if I did, people would talk!

But I wish you all the luck in the world with your writing. You are at least doing it, some of us are not!
