Astrology is just the same kind of thing as any fortune telling is. They are equally accurate and do more or less the same thing. Fortune tellers do not really tell one's fortune, just give them possibilities. And both are equally sound in terms of logic and proof of accuracy. Neither is close to be anything scientific or having any reason or logic behind them. There really is no logic to the idea that the where the planets where at the time of your birth affects your life at all.

If one were to blindly try to use any astrology chart one would find that all of them would fit them. So far in my experience it has been the ones who believe in Astrology who make more mistakes in life than the ones who do not. I think that goes back to basic religious beliefs where one takes away from their own inner strength by looking for various forms of higher power to help them. The strongest people I have known are the ones who need no higher power of any kind to make it through life.

Astrology is not fortune telling
Fortune telling is where you say to someone,"you will meet a tall dark stranger and fall in love and have 6 kids and get run over by a #7 bus on a Tuesday". Astrology is suggestive, not predictive. You are right in that far too many people live their lives by it, but as a tool, I find it very useful in lots of areas of daily life. The idea is though, that when you do a chart, it suggests what outcomes may happen IF EVERYTHING STAYS THE SAME until that point. And as anyone should be able to see, things dont stay the same. Now, whether the changes are enough to tip the balance of probability or not is mostly out of an individual's control, no man is an island and all that jazz, but forewarned is also forearmed. In essence, astrology opens the conciousness to possibilities that might not otherwise have been considered. Nothing more.

kooka_lives -- that's it in it's entirety -- the need to look for answers
beyond one's own cognative abilities is nothing more than a crutch for some people. Sadly, there are far too many people in this world that put far too much stock in the pseudo sciences, the super natural and religious beliefs. Which, if a person were to look at them objectively are much the same thing.
