sannhet -- that is the paradox we are caught in today and will continue to
endure for years to come. Once beliefs of any kind become entrenched and proliferate over the years, reversing those beliefs, even if thoroughly refuted, becomes much more difficult.

You're right about barriers - they are sneaky little buggers. Before you know it, if you're not careful, they are there, keeping you from reaching the truth.

sannhet -- I have to agree with that, I have run into a number of strange
and inexplicable occurances over my lifetime as well. The only problem that I see from ascribing everything of a positive nature that we cannot explain to God is that acceptance of these explanations creates a barrier to discovering the real causes as our knowledge grows. It also completely ignores negative occurances or ascribes them to the devil. As if the creator of the universe has time to fool around sorting out a few select people's minor problems all the time ignoring things that by anyone's definition are much more serious.

I've seen and done some things that I cannot explain. Now, I happen to believe that "God" is everywhere and in everything, so in that sense, what I did was a result of "God". But it is also quite possible that what I did and what I've seen are things that we can't explain given the knowledge that we currently have about the world and the universe. It doesn't mean that we won't be able to explain it later as our understanding of things grow. I think at some point, we won't be able to distinguish between the two.
