Hi I tried to accept the new toolbar but
it doesn't seem to appear on my blog. I also don't have the toolbar that has the "Insert Picture" icon. I did reboot my computer and still nothing.

Differences

Not sure if this is related to the toolbar or not, but it is a difference—I won't call it a problem because it doesn't bug me. Ever since signing up for the toolbar, when I go through the Write link and View New Comments, none of my new comments are showing up automatically.  I have to refresh the page.  I can still view comments by clicking on individual post links.

Sometimes, when I input a post, the spell check gives me an error message stating I no longer have access to the page or have lost my cookies.  The only way to correct the problems seems to be to copy and paste my post in a new window.  This is a problem since the point of the new toolbar is to save time while enhancing benefits.  :)

>:-} new toolbar.... better emoticons but it slowed me down! ******......

I like the better smilees, specially the little guy with the party hat and horn, and the little guy that cries. But

when i click on Add Post and have to wait while the thing decides whether its coming up or not.... i become fidigety, ADHD kicks in, my train of thought de-rails and sirens start going off.....

There seem to be a lot of really nice features and overall it probably will be great when you get the 'bugs' worked out. Till then, I'm back to the regular one, thanks.

Re: How do you get it to single space?

There isn't a way to single space your lines if that is how your formatting is set.

However, you may want to try pasting your writing in as plain text via the relevant toolbar button, which should help remove any special formatting.

Thank you.

Damon

You may want to try going to the Edit menu and choosing Paste from there. The Paste button on the toolbar may not be working on your browser due to your browser's security restrictions.

Thank you.

Brian & The team...
...I've just noticed that I'm unable to cut and paste from a Word document (on my Mac) into the new Post page. I often write posts in Word and then copy them across.

Any thoughts on this?

Re: Brian, thanks...

We will try to make sure that the new toolbar works as well as possible for Blogit members. Some third party offerings may be incompatible with the new toolbar.

Thank you.

Brian, thanks for your help..
I'll try that...Next question & I hope it will be the last  Winky  D'you know if the smileys from smiley central will work with the new template as it does with the old? I've noticed that when I insert them now, nothing happens. I sure hope they'll be compatible.  Thanks.

Brian & The team...
...with pleasure!

I'm using Mozilla Firefox v 1.0, easily the best browser I've EVER used in my life!

I'll go into that post now and try to edit the link. It may have been me, but I don't think so.

Testing continues...

Re: From a Mac-Man!

Damon, thanks for trying out the toolbar and the feedback. We will try to figure out why you are seeing some of the issues on the Mac.

Would you please let us know what Mac OS and browser (including version number) you are using?

The link that's showing up in your blog is incorrect with some additional text in the middle. The correct link is: http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Accounts/BetaTest.aspx

Would you mind trying once again to create a link with the correct URL we have listed above so that we can figure out whether being on the Mac or a different browser than Internet Explorer 6.x is somehow adding the additional "Blog.aspx" text in the middle of the link.

Thank you.

Re: New toolbar / Custom colors

word.smith, thanks for the feedback.

There is no limit to the number of colors you can have with this toolbar for either the fonts or the backgrounds.

To create a custom color, use the pulldown menu for the font or background color, and click on "Add Custom Color".

Then click on "Define Custom Colors" and move the cursor to the color you want and click on that.

Then use the arrow on the right hand side to lighten or darken that particular color. Once you have the color you want, click on the "Add to Custom Colors" button. Finally, click OK and it will show up in the palette when you pull down the color menu.

Thank you.

From a Mac-Man!
Hi to Brian and the Team!

First, this move is much appreciated. We Mac folk have long been starved of all the toolbar features available for PC users, and this new version is going to make life a lot easier.

I've had a small play, and here's my feedback so far.

1. The Links and Emoticons pop-up windows appear behind the main browser window, not in front of it, meaning I have to go hunting!

2. The link I've inserted into the WOOO-HOOO post in Fishing in the Rivers of Light behaves as a link, but appears not quite to work properly. This may be something I've done wrong. Also in the create link window, there are drop-down boxes and choices I don't understand. I wonder if you could add roll-over definitions there?

3. I tried inserting an emoticon. The emoticon window appears (behind the main window) but clicking on one failed to insert it.

4. I couldn't see what the Design and Preview buttons do down at the bottom.

That's it for now. I'll be back later after a longer play. Meanwhile - Thank You!

New Toolbar

Sorry, posted this in the wrong place first, so just copied it into here.

I agree with Ariala.

Some of the stuff should be kept eg. the thumb up/down icons.  I notice that smiley central does not work with it. Please tell me that it will be compatible, or my smiley fun will be drastically cut.

I notice also that the range of colours for fonts is much less. The current one is great. It would be good if that could be kept.  All in all, good job so far....and better emoticons.

Response to Ariala's comment

Here's our response to Ariala's comment on Community Help:

We will try to add any old emoticons that don't have an equivalent set in the new toolbar already.

Thank you for the feedback. If you are beta testing the new toolbar, we would appreciate your comments in the Comments section here.

Thank you.

Re: Sounds good

Blogit subscribers who joined before October 26, 2004 have what is called the Classic Blogit Basic subscription plan with unlimited blogs but no photo hosting etc. as detailed here.

As explained in the current News post, the new toolbar many members are trying out will be available to all subscribers when testing is complete. However, some features in the final version may only be available to Blogit Silver or Gold subscribers.

Thank you.

Sounds good!

Question, the old blogit subscribers - i.e. those at the old rate - what toolbar will apply to us? And what are we considered silver, gold??
