"the earth soaks up these tears of grief like a giant handkerchief" Wow. I think that's a wonderful image.

Nice poem :)
Thnak you for reading and leaving a comment, I'm just new to Blogit, subscribed a couple of days ago. I think I'll like it here, hehe. I liked your poem, it was really great for being written when you were only small. I was writing about animals and stupid things till I was about 15, heh. Anyway, see you round. :)

Good imagery at that age. Some of the kids I teach can't manage that at 14.

Lovely to read this poem and see you followed your bliss from the age of 8. I loved the line of the tears of grief being soaked up a giant handkerchief. It's amazing the profound nature a child displays in fiction and poetry. your post reminds me how important it is to write from the child within and not to discard the child writer for she knows how to write. Thanks for this wonderful gift.

Pretty deep for an eight year-old!
Was it like, scribbled in crayon on construction paper or found in the back of a faded Mead wire-bound notebook?

Isn't that great. .,
when you stumble upon something you wrote a long time ago. ., and after reading it. ., realize, "hey, that was pretty good!" *grin*
