Mia, get it over with already, if he is someone who is fun and that you like..do it! And I would tell the same thing to my own daughter, but my own daughter is only 14, so not yet, for her!....I was 17 and it was a horrible experience...we were gonna get married, and I was 'in love'...so that made everything okay. You have waited this long...do what feels RIGHT for you. The first time is not all wine and roses for most of us...don't have your expectations too high and no you don't even have to marry the first man you have sex with...but make sure this is not someone you will regret later down the road.
What would I do...ask myself if this person would still be a wonderful memory or a regret 10 years down the road.
