Grace
Is the silence you speak of from lack of judgement of others approximately equal to grace?

meditation is usually helpful for people whose minds are racing. i've had times where consciously controlling thought was impossible; in those times i would speak the meditation out loud until my mind relaxed. it's mostly a matter of whether or not you want it bad enough, i guess.

avant,
What if your mind NEVER SHUTS THE F&*% UP?? I'd pay for just an hour of silence in this head of mine!

i think a lot of people are that way, and wonder why their lives are so full of fear and anxiety.

yes, when you fall silent, the noisy appear to have really lost their minds.

isn't that the truth! we get so used to hearing noise, that when there's silence, it's an unexpected blessing.

for me, silence comes indirectly, when i stop resisting things. good luck discovering your peace.

A lot of truth coming home to roost in this statement:
Looking for a silent place to hide is to find that fear and anger have come with you.

this is really nice--isn't it strange how uncomfortable some people get with just a moment of silence, and they rush to fill it with blah-blah-blah...

I'm trying to find some silent places to think about things peacefully...great article, btw:)

it's funny that you said that
i had always heard that silence is golden. later, i heard that enlightenment gives off a golden hue. the two are naturally attracted, aren't they?

If stillness was a colour it would be a kind of misty, silvery grey, I wonder what colour silence would be, perhaps it would be a yellowy, goldy haze?
