It's interesting, that back in the 1930s, the papers and newsreels were full of little Japanese business men,  visiting the industrial ares of Britain, in their too tight suits and bowler hats. Toothy smiles and polite bows all round.

And why were they there? Why, to buy up the machinery from the closed-down factories and mills to ship back home. Deja vu.

Maybe we'll see the Chinese doing the same ; having had an appetiser with MG Rover. But a modern economy is a dynamic entity,  and historically, things have always reached a modus vivendi with changing economic circumstance ; and no doubt they will this time too.

But I'm glad I don't live in Blairsville any more!
