Xeno (like this moniker) -

I married the woman I knew I was to be with. Don't ask me how I knew, I just did. She is the love of my life. It took me 36 years to find her, but I did. We're opposites and learn a great deal from each other. I think that is part of why we are together, so that we can learn certain things.

As for part two, I imagine there are about as many reasons to marry as there are couples who marry. From one end of the spectrum to the other, it's probably all represented.

I married my 2nd husband because:   1. We loved each other   2. We each had children and we didn't want to confuse them by just living together.  3. We wanted to combine our finances.  4. Because I wanted to be socially monogamous with one person, kind of a 'you and me against the world" thing.  Now, he wants to tatoo his name on me.    Hhhmmmmm...........

I married because I didn't know better.
