bettyboop, I think I gradually
lost interest in fishing as soon as puberty hit, but those early memories remained. I can certainly relate to your daughter.

Great story. I think this may be the best post of yours that I have read. As I read it, I could imagine boating way out into the ocean and could see you struggling to pull the fish into the boat. VERY nice job!

I hope she'll always treasure those days.
My daughter used to love to go fishing with my dad a few years back.  Now she is almost 16, busy with school, volunteering, focusing on college, and being distracted by boys.  He still goes fishing, but I'm sure he misses her company.

MayB, And most those kinds of memories
were spent with my grandparents. I'm glad I had them.
