Caleb, you can not only prove that but man has not the power in and\
of himself to produce these things that are covered in the last paragraph. The Bible says that
in God all theings are possible!

The law
I think we can make an argument that "the law" as revealed in Scripture is necessary for us to know what sin is as well. This may not be politically correct.. but I believe it to be true. Just my 2 cents.

that's very kind. i've never felt i had a purpose before, because everything i did just left me frustrated. i find this interaction very fulfilling and stimulating. by the way, i was serious when i said you should take up writing for journals or even magazines. you would do well.

our lives read like a big lesson. it's a pity that we don't sit down and value what is contained in it. what i find is that a lot of people would rather not think about the darkness, or use it to find pity. thanks for the compliment and have a great day.

i like your observation skills. what you're saying is true. if you read Anthony Wiley's Wanderings, you'll see a great example of someone who has realized what he is not, and chosen again. he talks of being an out of control angry alcoholic earlier in his life. but, i think it took that part of him to realize the depth of love he has now.

Excellent post. I have long believed that the flip side of every person's best characteristic and greatest strength will most likely be the key to their worst characteristic and greatest weakness...when examined closely; and that the same is true for situations, conditions, etc. That is very simplistic but it works for me.

oh, yes. unconditional love exists. but, it is within you. no one can love you unconditionally but you. as for fear, yes it is true that fear can alert danger. but love can eliminate it.

i have walked the path that you describe and it is real and it is true and it leads to unimagineable joy acceptance and love...Yes, I came thru the place of sorrow and soul carving agony and was blessed 100 fold.

I'm reminded of the saying, "love yourself, warts and all." Recognizing fear can also help protect us. Learning there are people with hurtful intentions encourages cautious behavior. I'm not sure unconditional love exists. It just seems like people are too imperfect.

yes! there is value in darkness. the darker it is, the brighter the light when it appears. i was warped with fear when i had my first awakening. it was so sublime, i stayed euphoric for days. i now see the value in the level of darkness i experienced.

that says it all. it is when we chase after one, or avoid another, we are twisting its nature and what it offers. it has taken me a long time to apply non-resistance to my life, and i am much better for it. thanks for stopping by.

thanks for a well-thought out comment. i grew up in Christianity, but there is a mystical nature to me, one that wants to delve deeply into the meaning of things. i tried being a lot of things, and still felt there was something missing. i realize that a lot of what i say is strange, but it is not without merit. to each his own, and when we come together in a spirit of love, we all win and no one loses. have a great day.

This is a really powerful post. Wouldn't you say, that everything we can experience (emotionally) has a polar opposite? When people talk about "evil" I always say...but if there were no evil, then how would you recognize the good? So we need the polar opposites in order to define things.

Darkness and light are two sides of the same coin. You can't have one without the other. You must embrace one to embrace the other. Good post.

Avant garde you have such an incredible post here. You are looking for
all that God provides. Your last paragraph says it. The reality is that you don't have to involve in the works of this attainment. You teach me a lot about the day to day life in the world I would like to teach you the pure ease of knowing total freedom. It is void of fear. There is a scripture that says The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom; however, this word fear is respect. When you get into the scripture and know how you begin your path of seeking by first getting you will find the scripture that says: I did not give you a spirit of fear, but one of power, love and a sound mind. That sound mind is translated and the original manuscript means disciplined mind. When you accept Jesus into your heart you are protected from all things. It is not unconditional love, it is total giving up of oneself to Jesus. Each person in him not the same as some are saying God in all - He states clearly he is not, but if you are in him as he rules your life you have at your disposal over 6,000 angels to protect you from harm and deliver you from evil.
He also does not tell us not to judge. He says judge not ye be also judged. What he is saying if one reads it farther down is exactly what we are doing right here. I won't tell you what I believe to be right unless I expect you will do the same. He says steel sharpens steel. We are to call up other Christians short when they are stepping aside. We are not to condemn others that is God's job.
I thank you so much for your kind words. My only hope is to let people know some of these same arguments have gone on since the beginning of time since there is a war between good and evil.
First I have to tell you all I work with is Christian and Jewish Holy Bible. I can not tell you anything about any other religion meaning what is or is not right about others because God says nothing is. He considers all others to be part of the warfare. So do you consider yourself a Christian? Do you sit in teaching and fellowship groups? Do you Believe in Christianity? Do you want to be a Christian? There is no condemnation if you do not want to be. That is none of my business. I am only equipped to teach you what I know about Christianity, and that only. That is every Christians job.
