Madame
Very interesting tidbits here.  Now I am really interesting in the life and the conspiracy theory of Williams death.  Guess it's time to do some research.

The book that we were looking for was The Season of the Witch, there was a really worn copy in our local library but it was out of print in the shops.

In these days of AIDS, every health care worker wears protective gear.

What a freaking tragedy for Goldsmith!

I share your fear of "laser eye surgery", word.smith.
As a general rule, I tend to avoid any procedures in which the doctor feels compelled to wear "protective gear".

Yeah, that's right, Hemlocker!
What an ego Kingmi has!

Hmmm......
Cosmetic surgery can kill, eh?   I'm such a pessimist that I'm thinking I'd be blinded if I ever thought about laser surgery for my shortsightedness. As to any dewlaps I might develop in the future ...I'll keep those, thank you very much.

madame--
so kingmi thinks his memory is a universe? Hemlocker

I have entertained the thought, NCwriter.
However, the time and effort required would be prohibitive. Much easier to do it "peace meal" as a hobby.

Yeah, MsVision, he really was a tremendous writer.
Ironically, the success of the film version of "Midnight Cowboy" (only X-rated "Best Picture" winner ever) overshadowed his literary gifts, somewhat.

Madame,
This stuff is too good for you not to be thinking of compiling a book.....

James Leo Herlihy

Madame P.O.
I think it is really nice of you to memorialize these folks in this way.  Touching, actually.

Thank you, Ann.

Really? That's interesting cause,
to be perfectly honest, I had never even heard of him ... before I read about his terrible toothpick tragedy.

Their flame and fame live on.

Congrats on the winning answer. We were waiting for the ham radio.

Madame, Had to read and write a term paper on Winesburg, OH in college.
Otherwise Sherwood Anderson is a benign force in the universe of my memory.
