i went through the same experience...
it is positive, because we are not here to please ppl through our words or actions, but rather to be closer to our true selves...

that is a big one for me, too. i was always feeling alienated growing up, as if something were missing. i don't accept what others say i should say or do. it reached a point where i must accept myself for not being able to please others, without feeling angry and bitter. when i gave up the dream of acceptance, i also gave up the nightmare of anger and fear.

we hold onto the status quo because it is familiar, and letting it go moves us into the realm of the unknown.
