Georgia,
I think the response being higher to photos has to do with people being basically lazy. A profile without a picture makes you have to read and think more, which, for something to last kinda needs to happen. It's like what some actors I met in Burbank told me, you go for the look first and then filter through the acting ability. Or in our case, the relationship ability.

MiaElla!  I just joined a service myself ... I haven't had time to post a picture yet and find that's an obstacle to finding "matches".  I don't know what to think of that ... I guess it's 90% physical after all!  It'll be interesting to see how it all does or doesn't "pick up" once I put my picture out there ... Anyway - good luck with your new beau!

Hmmmmm....
do you have any single friends who might be interesting in sub-letting your profile? They could change it to whatever they want and you could just forward their emails...just an idea.

One test I always put the guys through that I dated I called the "Sheba test". Named after my cat, I found that they way guys treated my cat was a reflection of the way they would treat me. Also Sheba just seemed to have a sense about which guys would work well with me, and which ones wouldn't. She actually bit my first boyfriend who later turned out to be the worlds biggest jerk.

That is soooo gross...it makes me ill just thinking
of a roach anywhere on my body. Where do you live? I plan never to go/go back to wherever that might be. I have learned never to eat in a darkened restauant - ambience my ass, they are just hiding the bugs!

If he's smart, he'll get through it with a smile and a lot of fun.
As to the roaches, well, I lived on the coast for a long time, where they grow to abot the exact same size and temperament as race horses. The only effective weapon I found was the combat boot that stayed by my bed.

Good luck on all fronts!

Mia

A friend of mine had that problem too, with the roaches. He could have been a millionaire, as he came up with the ultimate idea on how to keep them off of his bed! He simply sprayed down his whole bed with pesticides before going to sleep. He told me of his idea the night before he did, and I thought “Oh man! You’re a GENIUS!” It worked, you know? No roaches in his bed. But by some strange and unforeseen twist of fate, he didn’t wake in the morning. He never woke again. Somehow he died in his sleep that night. The doctors say it was from the chemicals, but they’re stupid. He didn’t have any chemicals in his bed, just pesticides. Stupid, over-paid doctors. Bah! I thought about selling his idea as my own, but that would just dishonor his name. C’est la vie.
