MayB, it seems it's often people with little real authority
who like to exercise their power the most.

Cling, she is a strong girl
and sometimes she amazes me, the amount of energy she can put into pursuing a cause.

The trouble is when you have authority figures who put being in control over common sense and courtesy. I have no respect for anyone in authority who waves a big stick around for the sake of it

When you're right, you're right.
Glad to hear she gave a good fight. Too bad the cops didn't support her. Also, what a stupid rule! Anybody who has had small children knows what a hassle it is to tote them around, especially if you have more than one. In this case, the 'system' is just making life difficult on mothers (or parents). One would think they'd accomodate people using mass transit who are helping conserve gas by not using a POV. I say, first come first serve. If the bus is full because a mom and her kid in a stroller got on before someone else and now they can't fit, too bad. They should have to wait their turn. The one with the kids needs all the help she or he can get. Give me a break!

Good for your daughter! I tend to question authority quite often, it was a hard skill to learn with my mother around, who was intent on flaunting her own strong will and independence, but refused to allow it in her children.

Thanks for reading my blogs, I appreciate it.
Your daughter sounds like a strong girl. I can see myself doing exactly what she did, although my family would probably laugh a little, and call me stubborn, which I can be...just a little. But I agree with your view, we can't let people walk over us, and just because there's a rule, or an authority figure tells us something, doesn't mean it's right. There are times when things need to be challenged. Great point...
Take care...Cathy
