Comments on Silicon Valley = complacency?

Go to Ready, Fire, Aim! - Mihail's Public BlogAdd a commentGo to Silicon Valley = complacency?

MIhail, our robber baron, nation expanding, inventive frenzy is over and

now, we can only watch it happen in India and China. We

are a fat and lazy and complacent crowd and it is the natural course of things in life on the planet. You get everything and you are no longer HUNGRY for anything, but chaise lounges in front of Greek fountains and large screen t.v.s and all the food that you can scarf.

Companies  in the U.S.have this
"Garfield syndrome"

in their own way and defined differently, but China and India are hungry for it (success, progress, innovation, growth), chasing it actively, and having a damned good time doing it (remember the YAHOOS and the golden spike at the east/west railroad tracks' meeting place in the central USA?), as we once did. Let's all move to India and China to participate in the FUN, okay?

You do it for me. I lack the funds, but you have them. You go Mihail, for this old woman, who would love to ride that wave if I were younger.

i don't think America should be complacent

about India or China. Obviously, there's going to be a lot of structural changes to the US economy. But, after being here (in China) for a year and a half, I can say that while the Chinese fight hard, they can be beat...sometimes surprising easily.

I think it will be more a more difficult than the battles with the USSR or Japan simply because it'll be more difficult to cooperate and compete at the same time, but it can be done.
