I don't trust NASA either. How much foam is gonna fall off before they ground those things for good and develop a new generation of reliable spacecraft? I hate how much money goes to war, so-called "energy bills", and even space exploration, when there is so much to address on earth. At the same time, I think developing reliable space travel is inevitable. You have to admit,it was impressive when they hit that comet--though I don't think the comet dwellers appreciated it much. Not just anyone gets scientist bedhead...
I'd have to agree with you on this one. In fact, I generally get quite a kick out of any Hollywood movie that really pumps up NASA. Here they have some boardroom where everyone looks really smart and really busy and there are a few token dishevelled scientist types. One guy has bedhead so you know they're really smart and important.
