We need plenty of self reliant resources to shut ourselves away.

Hmmm, I find that if I don't discipline
myself to write, I don't get anything done. This week is looking like a really dry week and since I haven't put anything out there, I really don't have a hope of getting anything back.   Would that the world out there was like Blogit indeed!

Marshallengraved, I agree. I have to write every day

May, I can't disagree with this
entry at all. This is a great place to wind down after a productive day at work--a nice substitute for the television. But, like so many internet offerings, this place serves up a mere mirage of writing accomplishments.

By all means, don't leave. Just don't take the place too seriously.

MayB
It's nice to read the thoughts of someone who is actually a working writer. Financial instability is certainly a big part of it for awhile, but I always advise people to forget about the day job. Writing is your day job. Give it the time it needs--which is lots, and the skin it demands--which is thick. Sometimes the pain of shredding skin can be unbearable. You have to be a fast healer. I used to catch up with sleep in class and just catch the summaries

yeah MayB,
nothing like a baby to make you focus... unless you are so tired that you can't open your eyes! lol!

MerryAnne, I agree. I learned to do that from necessity when I was studying and had a baby

MayB,
the thing that I find is that if I can sit down and do it the work goes much more quickly than I thought it would. I just have to sit down to do it. Since I can only work 1 nap hour at a time I really need to focus and get stuff done.

NCWriter, you're right of course. Things are weighing heavily on me at moment.

Ca88andra, it does feel better to achieve a few things on the list.

MayB,
I think we need to look at posting as practice. And yes, a place to get positive feedback. A support group of sorts. It's all about balance....

Crossing items off that list is a good thing! There are times I have to try to motivate myself as well, the times seem to be cyclical. I'm sure you will do some wonderful work now you have set your mind to it.

Keep on keeping those wolves at bay, May. Enjoyed the Cameron notes.

Ginnieb, you've had one or two other distractions too. Don't be to hard on yourself.

Maybe it's just too safe here MayB!
Interesting point...maybe that's why I haven't pursued anything outside of here for months! Eek!!

ARGUS, I am always seeking other venues for my regular writing. Here I just relax. I am sorry not to have time for your best blog exercize but I don't have the time to judge that fairly

Well, yes. It can be a Linus' blanket at times
but I think that doesn't justify the time needed for: writing, reading, and socializing. I'm looking at other venues.
