There are only four questions of value in life, Don Octavio.

What is sacred?
Of what is the spirit made?
What is worth living for?
And what is worth dying for?

The answer to each is the same: only love.

i've heard that verse before, and never really understood the meaning of stating what love is not. now i understand that love is not of the mind, so the mind must negate what it believes love to be. there must be some parallels along the lines of what Jesus stated, because love is universal.

being 'high' on love is a state of being that is not of this world. not 'love' for a special person here, but the love that is at the core of everyone's being.

Caleb, there is a love we understand as human and a love that is the agape
of God. I believe if you will follow the teachings of Jesus you will find some provocation, some rabble rousing. He called the clergy of the day hypocrites, he plaited a whip and ran off all those selling goods in the house of the Lord, he on many occasions called people what they really were. If we play goody, goody to all things we are not of God and have none of the love called agape

Bravo
What a wonderful thing to read!  I have been trying to keep this exact subject in the forfront of my mind...Trying to do all things for love, for the glory of God.  When you are focused on this, it is amazing what you learn about yourself, your strengths and weaknesses.  Lovely post!

Your own paraphrase

of I Corinthians 13?

I must admit I am stuck on the topic of how "tough love" fits into all this... and when to let things slide... when to confront...  when to stay silent... when to speak out...     It is not always easy to discern God's will in all these different situations.  Maybe it is the attitude that He care about most.  Do I say or do what I do out of love?... out of wanting the best for the other person?... or to get my way?... or to control the other person?

Avant

hi there,Love does not provoke others?it does attract others , also I have witnessed and even  cursed out to others who seemed high on love acting oddly. That going on inside the attacker as responsible, like everything ,unless you are free of thought and emotion, anything can provoke an individual that is identified,or is it identified with something else? thanks
