cheap tips
In 1995 I stayed at the Hotel Carlisle in Paddington. It cost 30 pounds per night and had a separate toilet and bath. The room was small and old (very 1960's) but if you are on a budget and need to stay in that part of London I'd recommend it. It must be a bit scary there at the moment!

That looks pretty much like a decent motel room here, too.
And the price is probably about the same... $60-150 gets pretty much the same thing here, but if you go higher, like around $200+ then the rooms are visibly nicer. So I'm told... I've never stayed in such a place!
