- Go to Deluded Bliss is Bliss nonetheless
empty_handed_painter - It's the "don't want to be" part that the Jesus
freaks don't get. It's beyond comprehension to most that there is life outside of the very narrow realm of seeking salvation from some dead guy. This doesn't even begin to cover those people brought up in other faiths. What kind of salvation needs to be sold door to door?

Jesus is everywhere
so why do these people feel they need to go around and pester other people.
especially here in the United States where most people are Christian and those that aren't -- well most of them don't want to be.

I meant no disrespect. I just believe firmly in the concept of spiritual maturation (see Paul). I am a long way away from being anything close to mature (in more ways than one, I'm told). It's a growth process for all of us. And there are many ways to share Yeshua and his message other than proselytizing - by example, for example.

sannhet -- I couldn't agree more
It all boils down to looking in the mirror and asking one's self if they are worthy purveyours of the message. This simple qualifying action seems to be missing in a number of people's interpretation of what "spreading the word" means.

sannhet, wow...tell that to Jesus who said, "Go and tell all nations..."
Okay, I'll shut my immature fundamentalist mouth up now.

Like Ariala, I'm glad you have found something that works for you. I look at those who proselytize as still spiritually immature. This is not a bad thing. It's just like a two-year-old wandering out into the street on their first foray into the front yard - you can't be mad at them because they knew no better. I see each proselytizer as growing and learning spiritually, and proselytizing a phase that they must go through. Now granted, some don't grow any further. But that is still okay. As you say, deluded bliss is still bliss nonetheless.
