- Go to OBESITY: It's Not All Your Fault
Wow! I'm not the one to preach to, of course.
I've brought up my kid to totally disdain processed food. At 19, she will come home and make a raw green salad, and if she doesn't have one for a few days, her body will crave it. It's about educating the body to recognize what is food - and what is not!
Percentage wise, it the days when only 5% of the population as fat, it was recongized that only 1% of that number was due to a particular gene... Work the rest out.
Having said that, I firmly believe that starch (a certain type of carbohydrate) was never meant to be consumed by humans. When grains entered the human diet 10,000 years ago, arthritis set in. Before that, it was never seen.
It's easy to eat healthily and one is seldom hungry. Just cut out all processed foods - coffee, tea, soda pop, ice cream, pre-cooked meals, restaurant meals, grains, etc.
Stick to raw veggies, fruit, meat, fish, nuts, seeds. When one eats meat, it sates the appetite and one automatically requires less food. Anything that triggers insulin, triggers the appetite. Starch is the biggest trigger of insulin (not sugar).
