you cannot proclaim that you ar for peace if you espouse war
what is interesting is that religion, for all its high aspirations, is still, here on earth (where else?) composed of human beings
and human beings, even the highest of us religiously, mainly the Dalai Lama, have human frailties.
and you can see that if you walk into any church and interact with the churchgoers after the service and listen to their ideas and opinions, which, frankly, are quite frank, and you go away knowing that the human animal reigns considerably in even the most ardent churchgoer.
the sad thing is: this human frailty basically is the expression. biases, paranoia, xenophobia, tribalism, wanting to war and defeat an enemy -- these all are within us.
and we forget the high aspirations of religion.
a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. and religions weakest link is its adherents.
