I know, Temple.
I'm just trying to frustrate you, Silly. You should know that by now. It's fun for me. It's like having the big sister I always wanted to torment.

HolyG,
Hmm, I never thought about the word physics and twist tie being in the same sentence. Scary, init?

I'm with Temple.  I like the plastic bread-for-dummies thingies.  I have gotten very confused by the physics of the twist-tie.

I can see you're going to be difficult about this now.

You can do it with whatever you are trying to open, and it can spin at least enough to get a handle on whichever way the tie is tied.  ;p

Rach,
Can one of your kids make a maid for me?

Temple,
Yeah, but what if it's not on a loaf of bread? Ha!

lol
I try not to use the damn things. I give them to the kids and they make people out of them!

I got confused just thinking about undoing them!

posted by Ca88andra on July 24, 2005 at 4:23 AM | link to this | reply

wait wait wait....oh...k...
no, you hold one end of the tie with one hand, then the other end of the tie with the other, then that's it, pull the tie apart and the bread will spin in whatever direction and it will unwind...see?

No, but imagine how much fun I'd be if I did? ;)
And.....huh?

Temple,
Do you have 3 hands that I don't know about?

posted by SpitFire70 on July 24, 2005 at 2:31 AM | link to this | reply

Uh, Spiffy, don't ask Jimmy a question like that.
He'll write a paper and quote statistics on the damage of these ties on self esteem and use words to say that none of us will understand.  Yes, I have had this experience.  I take one end in each hand, hold the bread up in the air, and pull the tie apart as the bread spins.  Done.

Temple,
Yeah, but what if ya have no choice of twisty ties? You can't possibly tell me you've never experienced this dilemma!

blackcat,
The only conclusion I can possibly come to is that someone was hanging their foot out of a passenger side car window going pretty fast and lost it. It must have been pretty loose and must have been one who was dense enough to lose it.

So, Jimmy,
Why hasn't anyone else complained about such things as of yet?

posted by SpitFire70 on July 24, 2005 at 1:39 AM | link to this | reply

JJ,
That's obviously not true. You stated, "Everything made tightens to clockwise and loosens counter clockwise." Um, I beg to differ, Pal. I think I've proven myself right here in this post. But, thanks for the tips.

Spiff,

My personal recommendation is that you just keep twisting the frickin thing one way, then the other, then back, then forward, etc., then etc.  Finally the little muckball will break and you can go on about your business.

When you put the bread away, fold the bag under and set that side down.  One loaf, dehorned and ready to eat as whimsically as you please.      Hints From JJ

yeah, I don't risk it
I buy bread with the little square plastic thingies.  Bread for dummies.

lol.. I like the random shoe in the middle of the street.... how did it get
there??  It's a very good question... and not an isolated incident.

common mystery...hate those things...peace.

Spiffy,

I know that they do that on purpose.  Everything made tightens to clockwise and loosens counter clockwise.  Everything but bread twists.  Maybe it's Chinese employees; they read backward, so it would only make sense that they tie bread twists backward.  Or maybe there's some guy who teaches classes to new employees on bread tying and he can't say ''clockwise'' in Spanish.  Or maybe he's just insane.

Maybe it's terrorist bombers trying to drive us insane so they don't have to waste so much hashish money on bombs--out of kindness I suppose.

Nice day, isn't it?  luv...   JJ

Aw, thanx, my sweet Justsouno-Mom!!
How sweet. But, no, you're not the only one!! I remember when I was a little girl, I had "right" and "left" on my gym shoes! Maybe that would still help me today?

I love what you take and make a wonderful post of. I thought I was the only
one who did not know my right from my left. Good Job.

gypsy,
Hmm, I've actually never thought about that. I have wondered why time flies on your day off, but when at work it seems to move in slow motion!

Sincerity,
I wonder if they do it on purpose?!
