I believe that there is only one creator, depending on religion and belief, the creator is called in their own unique names. Most people don't agree but I believe that we come from the same source.. we only see things differently..depending on the faith that we have.

Unfortunately, lahip, I have several stories of rampant ignorance among
Christians about the Catholic Church and its history. That, too, is truly sad.

It seems unbelievable that
that sort of ignorance still exists in 2005. Sad but true.

There are still a few elitist denominations out there, renigade, but
predestination rules against the idea of self-will and individuality. Be that as it may, check out Arthur C. Clarke's short stories, "The Nine Billion Names Of God" and "The Star."

The sad thing, calebs_blogger, is that the person in question, noted
dimwit, is forty years old. Somewhere in there you have to provide for your own education. The education system only takes you to eighteen or thereabouts. The rest is up to you.

Funny reading this, because I just converted to Catholocism this past
spring. For whatever reason I was under the assumption that the Catholics were an elitist bunch who thought their God was the ONLY God. Boy was I wrong. I remember asking the priest in my RCIA class if he thought Jews, Muslims, and other Christian faiths were worshipping the same God. "Of course," he said without even blinking, "they just call him different names." That's when I knew that my first communion was going to be a sure thing.

the dimwit
I am not Catholic but I have several Catholic friends. I won't say I agree with everything Catholics believe in but I believe we worship the same God and belief in the same grace. I will agree that your first co-worker sounded like he had been fed something by somebody else and not put any of his own intellect into it.
