I always love reading your posts, because you invariably make a statement that hits home for me. To paraphrase you, you won't find the creator through the things of this world, no matter how pretty the package. We are tempted (at least I am) on a daily basis with all the pretty packages available to us - cars, boats, motorcycles, houses, blondes, brunetes, redheads - but none will lead us to that beautiful package in our hearts. Great post!

and the first step is merely being aware that when you choose it, you hurt yourself. it has nothing to do with others.

i guess i will have to learn...
how to control my anger...of course, we always feel bad after reacting...being conscious of that, there might be a way to control it.

anger is mostly a reaction. when we stop and think, it takes the momentum out of it. more and more, i'm making the choice to withhold reaction and think it over. and, more and more i'm deciding that it just isn't worth the cost.

Where no attack is chosen, no attack is perceived.

you and i have something in common. i've always been a confrontational person. the problem was that even though i felt vindicated, i did not feel peaceful. when the urge to strike back if felt, just remember that the payoff is not peace of mind. if you withhold the attack, you still have to deal with the affront. i send the person love and bless them, and it doesn't take root. it takes practice, but doesn't all disciplines? i falter a lot and strike back and feel the consequences. slowly, slowly, i'm learning.

Avant garde...
I have a question for you that has to do with your statement:
"Where no attack is chosen, no attack is perceived."
When somebody is making fun of you or stares at you, how am i supposed to react? To be honest, I wanna slap the motherfucker! I know, this is not the way i should react, but it corresponds to the way i react!
How can i turn such an event into sth positive?
