It's crazy to steal one of these
It's pretty much disabled without the original info. It just sits there. Not much use for a scooter that doesn't move. Except for people like us with very, very, very, very vivid imaginations.

Segways
It looks like police got involved with the Scooters in a different way. Thieves could not find a way to unload them. http://www.thewmurchannel.com/news/4827380/detail.html?rss=man&psp=news

Yes:
1. When the power gets low they lose equilibrium.
2. No protection from airflow/weather, tree limbs, dirt in the eye, and no A/C.
3. Can't run in the street and they can't run on the sidewalk (run over pedestrians). No acceptable offroad capability. No collision protection.

Hi T-girl
It's not much, but here's a law enforcement/Segway tidbit, dealing with police bomb squads.

They might also be helpful in one of those lo-speed O.J. Simpson type police chases
