You are a very good writer but this is a house of mirrors, complicating the
simplistic. But it is yours not mine so it is good for you.

Its Raine saying thank you for stopping by .....
Thank you for commenting on my recent post. I have enjoyed your work especially this piece. Unconditional love is so very difficult in the midst of profound evil. Living and teaching others to love by our interactions is a challenge for all. Keep up the good work!

you're right. i wanted understanding more than i wanted anything else in life. i sacrificed making lots of money, and really pursuing other worldly goals. but, it has been worth it. thanks.

it's not naive if you've been through what doesn't work and no longer choose it. thanks a lot for the insightful comment.

yes, i think we can, but it takes either many years of self work, or a sudden momentary piercing with the blade of truth, that forever alters our vision of ourselves and our world.

I genuinely always expect things to work out for the best, and people to treat me right; and by that, I mean with love - both these things generally happen. I strive to just
be, and to conduct my interactions with other people so that they, also, can just
be. I don't really find life to be that complicated if we do not try to make it so. I don't think I am naive but, actually, extremely pragmatic - it is what it is and we just need to work with it rather than against it.......that probably doesn't make sense; feeling rather right brained today.

monitoring thought is essential, isa. what we dwell upon is what we create. positive thoughts create positive experiences. good luck on your journey.

sometimes it is hard to see those projections, which is why we need to self-reflect and disconnect from the world. to balance the inner and the outer.

yes, that is the traditional view of karma, but i've looked at it without the element of time. just as the mystical christian view of heaven is a state of mind free of individual hell, nirvana can be thought of as liberation of the false self, who is bound by karma. thanks for such a thoughtful comment.

I agree all struggle is really with ourselves, and that we're constantly projecting
onto others and the outside world the parts of ourselves we're not ready to
own.

I read your thoughts with some appreciation, though I think good counterpoint appears in some of the other comments. You may have misinterpreted karma, which is a religious doctrine based in the belief in reincarnation. Each re-birth in the cycle of lives is based on the sum of merit accumulated by an individual during previous lives. The doctrine of reincarnation is inimical to most Christians, especially the fundamentalists. A person who had to have misunderstood karma once told me that people with serious disabilities are being made to suffer for bad things done in a previous life. At that point I was ready to flush karma down the ideological toilet--until I did some research and realized this woman had totally misrepresented it. Thanks. Hemlocker

that's great, anthony
and that's exactly how it works. i have found the religious zealots to be some of the most most uncaring, ungiving people. i believe it has to do with their obsession to be perfect, and the constant judgment that goes along with it. have a great day, my friend.

"Can we interact in the world without expectations? Can we give instead of looking to receive? Can we demonstrate the law of love as we have discovered it to be? "
I am beginning to think a name change to "savant" would be more appropriate my friend. You keep my mind rattled. lol
Yes, this was a good point. I tried to do that, "Give instead of looking to receive. I turned Chalices from wood and simply sent them out to others, helter skelter. The interesting phenomenon for me was that at the time I started doing that, I was in a self destructive mode of grief caused by the death of my love, my wife Joyce.
That simple act, the thinking of it, which you and I both know came from elsewhere~ outside of me~made me arrive at this place of peace and now bursts of contentment and happiness result.
I did that 38 times, and in all of that there was only one person, and he a theology student studying for the ministry, who never had the courtesy to say a simple "thank you". Strange what?
You are one great blogger my friend.

you are right
in that choosing not to choose is a choice, but it is a choice to own and not project. It is a choice to see things as they are, instead of how i need them to be. when i'm angry, for instance, i cannot see that i am frustrated in getting what i want from another. i try to get them to own the blame and feel guilty for denying me, but no amount of doing that will free me. only when i make the choice to watch it does it reveal itself. it's good to hear from you jeremy. how was your journey?

Hi Avant-garde
to suspend judgement, this is also a judgement or choice made by a person. To say defenselessness or not choosing is devine by being unconditional acceptance, to me this means you accept that which you feel and that is feelings of all sorts. fear or love.If I try to see this simply,as based from love or fear than unconditional acceptance is a shade or unacceptance of many emotions. This is difficult for me to accept because I see this.
thank you
