Madame P.O that was my thought as well. I remember the discussion in history class that the public basically made it an outing. It struck me a bit crazy at the time. That's one of those moments you have to ask yourself "What were they thinking?"

I'm not sure I understand the question...
but, is that the one where people were standing around watching, like spectators? I think they even held a party or a picnic or
something?
