This is too funny! So... when exactly do I qualify to be considered geriatric? LOL Sandi

British Horror Girl,
that quote (which if any of you haven't seen it is, "Everytime a friend succeeds, a little piece of me dies") has created a tremendous amount of animosity towards me, in my "real life". Even though, I'm personally convinced everyone (deep down inside) feels exactly the same way. I'm merely one of the select few honest enough to admit it.

Oh, no, Krisles,
what you said was perfectly fine!

I simply meant I felt a slight bit of negativity "in general". My comment was honestly not directed at anyone in particular. Besides, I've grown quite accustomed to my writing engendering a, shall we say, "strong response". You would not believe some of the comments I've received elsewhere (not to mention, the emails). Including such witticisms as "Dear stuck-up bitch" and "I hope you burn in Hell, you communist dyke".

Madame P.O.
And, dang! That didn't sound right either! I love the way youth thinks other than the fact than sometimes not realizing that perspective will change.  I am constantly accused of being immature for my age!  We need as much youthful thinking as we can get....so think on and write on.

Madame P.O.
Speaking for myself....I didn't mean to sound negative at all and please forgive if I did....I was 20 once myself and certainly would have though sex impossible once skin wrinkled.  It's more amused is what we are because we know so much better and simply recognize the folly of way youth thinks....well, I suppose some are irritated by it because they don't remember their own attitudes at those ages. All perspectives change, Madame, along with maturity....it would be pretty boring if you were a done deal at your age.  You post what you want...you're a hoot! I didn't read anything but some honest response along the lines of just wait and see.....cause, just wait and see!

Hey Madam, I loved your quote on your profile - Its so true, and I think the world would be a better place if everyone just indulged that side of themselves more often!

At least, Denanna agrees with me!

I meant to write...
"my youthful perspective" (obviously). Hey! It's still early here!

Also, Arlene & allicat, I'm hoping to still have sex even after I'm dead.

P.S. Don't bother trying to interpret that last remark. I don't know what it means, either.

Krisles, the great poet and author Goethe was over 80...
when he wrote "Faust". That doesn't mean most 80 year olds are capable of that sort of production, however.

But, thank you for the compliment, anyway.

I sense some negativity towards by youthful perspective (not necessarily you, Krisles, just in general). It's funny because I was more worried about the reaction to the one I planned to post today (on "race relations"). I say planned, because, now, I'm thinking I better play it a little "safer".

Hemlocker, it is not gross for a 77 year old...
to want sex ... it is gross for a 77 year old to actually have sex.

But, once again, that's just my opinion.

P.S. There is no way in Hell I'm making it past thirty.

Madame

I think Picasso was close to 80 when he fathered his last child...as long as the little suckers can swim.... You obviously must still be fairly young......just wait....perceptions about all things slide along just like the little metal thingy on the scale at the doctor's office.  I loved your line "premature elaboration" and wrote it down in my paper brain as a keeper.  Great post!

madame
So, it is gross for a 77 year-old woman to want sex? Honey, I hope you live that long. I'll check back with you. Hemlocker

It never ceases to amaze me...
The things medical science will do to  chemically reproduce our natural funcrions.  I agree with you, sex at 80 just sounds gross.

Well, it's just one girl's opinion.
What the fuck do I know?!

Being told that sex at that age is gross
would deflate even the most avid Cassanova.

Well, Blackcat, I suppose it is a...
"boost of morale" type thing, as much as it is a "boost of anything else". I have this debate with my Mother all the time. She can't understand what really old guys need Viagra for, either. And, one would have thought she'd be "all for it"!

P.S. Just joking, mother! (She's not even close to 80... honestly.)

madame...
LOL... that is so great.  I always wonder about who decided to invent and prescribe viagra to the 80+ crowd?  New fathers at age 80?  Was this supposed to be a reality?

LOL....oh the possibilities...

Maybe so, mmm-w.
To be honest, when I first read your post yesterday, I was a little worried where that story was headed.

LOL, the second is my favorite....

PERHAPS it was after reading your column that the older gentleman from my post yesterday (who was at barnes and noble) decided to head over and check out the kama sutra.....
