Another way to link

The permalink is the permanent link you can use to always reach a particular post or comment.

When you click on the permalink the URL that shows up in your web browser's address field is the permanent link for that particular piece of writing. And it will always take you back to that specific post or comment no matter how many new posts or comments have been added to a blog.

So if you want to point readers -- in your own writing or when emailing someone -- to a specific comment or post, make sure you include its permalink. If you wish to simply point to a writer's member profile, click on their Blogit nickname and then copy the URL that you see in your web browser's address field.

If you prefer not to use HTML to add links (as Akyterine has explained), there is another way to link a word or phrase in one of your posts to another post.

First find the permalink (URLs/permanent web address) of the post you want to link to, and copy it and save it if that's easier, then follow these steps:

1. Type in the name or phrase you want to link in your post or comment.

2. Highlight the name or phrase you want to link by left-clicking your mouse and moving it over the phrase or word.

3. Then click on the "Insert Link" icon on your toolbar (that's the icon which looks like a round globe) and enter the permalink URL that you want to insert.

4. Click the "OK" button and continue writing the rest of your post or comment, and save and post it as always. Now the name or phrase you had highlighted and linked will take you to the linked page.

Please let us know if you have any other questions about this.

a href="http://www.blogit.com/">This is a link</a>

What you do is take the URL of the post you want to link and put it in between the quotation marks where "http//www.blogit.com" is right now, put the word which you want people to click on in place of the "this is a link" and you're done. Oh, and put a "<" symbol before the a href so it looks like < a href. I removed it from the example so it wouldn't come out and not show you how the html shows.
